QDRO SERVICES
Actuarial Concepts is an actuarial consulting firm that also offers outsourced drafting of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders for attorneys in dissolution of marriage actions.
Since 1996, we have assisted more than 80 local attorneys in preparing more than 500 QDROs or similar orders.
Our standard fee for preparation of a QDRO is $525. This fee is based on the assumption that we are provided with all required information as listed on the attachment to this letter. If desired, and if permitted by the plan administrator, we will obtain preliminary approval of the proposed QDRO prior to your submission to the Court, at no additional charge. Revisions or an amended QDRO required in order to obtain final acceptance of the QDRO bythe plan are included in our fee.
Note, however, that additional time incurred by us (e.g., obtaining the required information from other sources, telephone consultations with your client) will be billed to you at our regular hourly rates as follows:
| In-House Counsel: Richard M. Tierney, Esq. | $175 per hour |
| Actuary: Michael J. Tierney | $275 per hour consulting |
| $425 per hour testimony |
Note also that our service normally includes delivery of an acceptable QDRO to the attorney for submission. Please note: we are not a law firm, and we do NOT provide legal services or advice. It is our policy not to perform any services to the general public that may be construed as unauthorized practice of law.
The $525 fee for our services should be submitted when the checklist information on the QDRO page is returned to us (note that the Authorization for Release of Records also attached is required for all cases). We consider our employment to be with the attorney, and the obligation for payment as well. We prefer that the information be emailed when possible. We strongly recommend that you collect
the fee in advance from your client, or that you do not submit the QDRO to the Court until the fee has been paid.
This is an offer to contract with an attorney. Actuarial Concepts does not enter contracts for the provision of QDRO drafting services with non-lawyers. Actuarial Concepts considers submission of the QDRO information sheet or other request for a QDRO as a binding contract between Actuarial Concepts and the submitting attorney for QDRO consultation under the terms stated herein, and such attorney is responsible for all fees incurred.
If you have any questions, please email or call us. We would be pleased to assist you.
